The foai siblings
Siblings Olivia and Matatia Foa'i are a filmmaking duo originally from New Zealand, now based in Sydney, Australia. Matatia is an Actor and Screenwriter, Olivia is a Director and Producer.
Although relatively new to film, they have both worked in the entertainment industry since childhood, touring internationally together in Polynesian band "Te Vaka" for majority of their youth. In 2018 they worked together in a new capacity as Matatia produced Olivia's song My Way, and in 2019 he produced the full album, Candid, which took home a Tui Award in New Zealand.
Olivia has been directing and producing her own projects since 2017, including Lakalaka music video released through Walt Disney Records. Matatia received his screen acting diploma at Screenwise in 2018 and shortly after, the two teamed up to focus on film.
No better way to learn and hone one's craft, they began writing, learning the technical aspects and most importantly filming, filming, filming. Amongst a host of web content, sketches, music videos and other visual projects, they have so far created the following self-funded short films: Henchmen (2020), The Greatest Boom Op (2020) , Stuntbot (2020. Won some international awards) and My Neighbor Maleko. They are currently in production for a comedy series called "Gym Boys" for release later this year.
